Jungfrau Region
After a few days of poor weather, we got a lucky break and hoofed it to the Bernese Oberland. As always, completely stunning.
On the train there, passing Lungerersee. The route between Luzern and Interlaken is probably one of the most scenic I've experienced here so far.
Down through the Brünigpass towards Meiringen, looking towards the Schwarzhoren, which we'll be at the other side of in a couple days!
The view from our hostel in Lauterbrunnen. We dumped our stuff, then walked along the valley floor.
Sheer cliffs, waterfalls, lush grass, cows, and snow-capped mountains? Yep, it's Lauterbrunnen all right. Very touristy, and for good reason.
Clouds rolled in as the afternoon progressed. I love the details in the glaciers, and am excited for peak summer when there's no snow covering their tops.
Day two was Grindelwald and Grindelwald First; this is from the cable-car part of the way up.
The Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, and Eiger as seen from Grindelwald First.
Panning right with Grindelwald down below.
On the way back down. I'll definitely be coming back in the summer.
