Luzern

My partner came to visit for a good chunk of April, and since jetlag isn't very fun, we went to Luzern for a more casual day trip.

Kapellbrücke

Kapellbrücke; there are triangular paintings in the roof spaced about a meter apart across the entire bridge which I suspect are meant to tell the history of Luzern. Some of them were fire-damaged or taken down for restorations, and since my partner and I don't speak German, we made up our own story as we passed from one end to the other.

Looking towards Rigi from atop Maenliturm

The view from atop Männliturm. We definitely got nerd-sniped by the clock mechanism in Zytturm. The steep stone and wood steps were a lot of fun, if not weirdly unnerving, considering all the irresponsible hikes I've done.

View from waterfront of Luzernersee

View from the waterfront just beside the train station. Luzern definitely makes for a fun day trip! Although if you're coming for the big lion, I'd recommend checking to see if it's closed for restorations first.
