Review: The Wild Robot

Super cute movie that is simultaneously kid-friendly while having some incredibly dark humour (although considering how hard we were laughing in the theatre while the kids were silent, I think those jokes went over their heads. That, or my sense of humour sucks). The visual style was stellar and seemed heavily inspired by Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse (both amazing movies, highly recommend). It had a great soundtrack to match, a surprising number of twists to the plot, and it eschewed some of my less liked tropes of the genre.
